Fighting Fitness Turkey Burger

3 lb lean ground turkey

1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs

1/4 cup fresh basil, minced

1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

2 egg whites

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

Cooking spray

6 whole wheat buns

1 cup low calorie marinara sauce

2 tablespoons parmesan cheese grated

In a large bowl combine, combine turkey, breadcrumbs, basil, onion, egg whites, garlic, salt and pepper until well mixed. Form mixture into 12 patties.  Individually wrap and freeze all burgers you do not intend to eat. (These will make great easy to go dinners!)

Warm a pan sprayed with cooking spray over medium heat.  Cook patties in pan, turning once, until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees (about 6 minutes per side).

Place each burger on one side of a bun.  Top with a few spoonfuls of marina sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Savor the flavor of this healthy Italian recipe!
